Displacement Calculation

Displacement is the primary unknown solved in most structural finite element analyses. After solving the global system, the nodal displacement vector defines the deformed shape of the model.

Displacement results are useful for checking stiffness, clearance, alignment, and global deformation behavior. Deformed shape plots are often scaled visually, so the displayed deformation may not represent the true physical scale unless explicitly stated.
